Wolf Hollow has gone online in an effort to cover the cost of rehabilitating two juvenile bald eagles.
With its “crowd-funding” campaign on LoveAnimals.org, the San Juan Island-based wildlife rehabilitation center hopes to raise $2,368 to cover the cost of caring for and for feeding the two eaglets, Artemis and Athena, over the next seven months.
In addition to portions of salmon, venison and beef, much of which is donated to the center, the two eaglets eat an equivalent of three rats a day, each, at a cost of $2 apiece.
As of Monday, Oct. 28, the crowdfunding campaign had $1,581 left to raise to meet its fundraising goal, and 14 more days to do it.
