In light of the recent update of ballot returns from the San Juan County Elections Office (see https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20241105/sanjuan/), I am deeply honored to be able to officially step forward as Councilperson-elect for San Juan County, District 2. I am truly grateful for your confidence and trust in me.
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the candidates who participated in this election. The dedication and effort required in running a campaign requires an immense amount of time and energy. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for my fellow candidates and thank each of them for being part of the process — one that highlighted the many needs and opportunities that face us as a county. I look forward to collaborating to address these challenges and prioritizing the well-being of every member of our San Juan County community.
I would also like to thank those who were involved in spreading my message throughout the campaign. There are too many to list in this letter, but to every person who acted as an advisor, wrote a letter of support, made a financial contribution, put a sign in their yard, or simply took the time to reach out and share their story of hope or concern — Thank You! I am humbled to have made hundreds of new connections across the islands, learning about the unique needs and common connections that make San Juan County the amazing county that it is. I look forward to nurturing those relationships over the coming term.
Finally, I would like to thank the current San Juan County Council, Staff, and Town and County elected officials for helping assure that the leadership transition is smooth and seamless. It is clear that we live in a community that truly cares about the success of its friends, neighbors, and coworkers. I am proud to be part of that experience and look forward to continuing to build trust within our community moving forward.
With sincere gratitude,
Justin
