Poetry Reading with Gary Thompson, Holly J. Hughes and Michael Daley

Submitted by Griffin Bay Bookstore.

Griffin Bay Bookstore is sponsoring a poetry reading with San Juan Island poet Gary Thompson, finalist for the 2022 Washington State Book Award in poetry for “Broken by Water: Salish Sea Years.” Thompson will read and introduce two popular Northwest poets on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m.

Holly J. Hughes is co-publisher of Empty Bowl Press and author of the poetry collection “Hold Fast” as well as other collections. Michael Daley completes the panel – he is the author of the collection “True Heresies” and managing editor of “The Madrona Project.” All three poets are published in and will read from “The Madrona Project: Art in a Public Place.”

A brief discussion will follow the reading. Copies of the poets’ books will be on sale, and the poets are happy to inscribe individual copies.

When you shop locally and support your independent bookstore you nurture your own community. Griffin Bay Bookstore’s Anniversary Sale will be all day, Saturday, Nov. 9, when books will be 20% off.
