With this letter, is our heartfelt thanks to The Community Foundation of San Juan Island for their generous grant support to Rainshadow Quilting Arts Guild. Our Warming the Community with Quilts program supports the community through donations of handmade quilts to island residents in need of the beauty, warmth, comfort, and expression of care that quilts provide. RQAG members donate handmade quilts to support children, community veterans (Quilts of Honor), cancer patients, and community members experiencing illness, tragedy, and grief. Quilts, made with love from neighbors, are a way to help our Island community feel recognized, supported, and comforted. The members who create the quilts invest time and supplies such as fabric, thread, batting, and long arm quilting – the step that makes a quilt a quilt – either personally or paid professionally. The generous, and much appreciated, grant awarded to RQAG by the Community Foundation allows us to continue and broaden our community support. Thank you!
