Submitted by San Juan County

San Juan County offices will be closed to the public on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth – the celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.

San Juan County Council issued a proclamation at the June 13, 2023 Council Meeting recognizing the holiday and the County’s commitment to honor the milestone of American Justice. You can read the proclamation at https://www.sanjuancountywa.gov/DocumentCenter/View/30434/2023-06-13-SJC-Proclamation-Juneteenth.

Unlike other federal holidays, such as Memorial Day and Labor Day, that are observed on a specific day of the week, Juneteenth is celebrated on the actual day and County offices will be closed.

Regular business hours and operations will resume on Thursday, June 20.
