January 15, 2024, Denny passed away at home after a lengthy struggle with Parkinsons.

Den lived his early years in Ridgefield, Washington with his parents and siblings, Dogh, Nicki and Jacki. The center of the Sevier family was their cattle ranch, the River S. Den’s youth was centered around being a cowboy and being active in school sports. He participated in baseball, basketball and football. He remained good friends with teammates his entire life. While in high school he was introduced to golf which became a lifetime passion. He and his brother Doug shared this passion and became lifetime competitors.

Den followed his brother to Washington State University where he graduated with a degree in Business administration in 1968. While attending WSU, Denny was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. September 1967, prior to Den’s senior year, he and Joy Stevens were married.

Den’s first job after graduation was with Bank Check Supply. He began this 15-year career based in Seattle. From Seattle he transferred to Portland, returning to Seattle and final transfer was to Spokane. He accepted a position with U>S Cellular in the 80’s. This job resulted in a transfer to Tacoma.

Denny and Joy purchased San Juan Cellular in 1998. The company name was changed to San Juan Wireless during the 20 years that the business was in operation. Denny became the satellite TV expert who tirelessly traveled to ferry and non-ferry-served islands to maintain television service for valued customers.

Denny remained at home thanks to the excellent care he received from caregivers and Hospice. Denny is survived by his wife Joy, sons Marc (Maria) and Brooke, and granddaughters Ellye and Louisa.

A private memorial will take place on Waldron Island later this summer. Memorial contributions may be made in Denny’s name to Michael J. Fox Foundation or Parkinson’s Foundation.
