This Valentine’s season satisfy your sweet spot for Soroptimists (We’re NOT asking you to buy, bid or bake anything!
We’re keeping it sweet and simple.)
Please consider a simple donation funding a new monetary award for local young women wishing to learn a trade or attend community college — an important unfulfilled need in our community.
This campaign runs from Feb. 10-20
While many scholarships are offered for four-year, college-bound students, our islands are seriously lacking skilled tradespersons who would have no trouble finding work in the Islands while contributing to the local workforce.
Here’s a simple formula: instead of buying or baking something sweet on Valentine’s Day, calculate how much you would have spent and use that to do something sweet to help a young woman learn a trade or attend a community college certification program. Think of the calories you’ll save.
Sweet Incentive: The first three donations of $100 will receive a delicious hand-molded heart-shaped chocolate box filled with chocolate pieces made by Soroptimist’s own master chocolatier Karin Eberhard.
