Wolverines’ girls’ soccer team beat Nooksack Valley 5-2

The Wolverines’ girls’ soccer team scored three goals against Nooksack Valley in the first few moments of the game, Oct. 7, and they didn’t let up.

“It was a really fun game. We were short-handed for this one which made the last part of the game challenging. Nooksack is a good team, and I think we surprised them coming out that strong when we only had eleven girls.,” Coach Kevin Mcullen said. “Thankfully we were able to get a comfortable lead through some offensive creativity and strong play through the middle and were able to hold on to that until the final whistle.”

Nooksack fought hard, blocked well, passed and stole the ball but were unable to score until the last ten minutes of the game when they scored two.

The Wolverines’ won with a final score of 5-2. The girls will take on LaConner on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 4:30 p.m at the Linde Community Fields.
