On Wednesday, May 31, the San Juan Island School District Board of Directors will hold three types of school board meetings:

An Executive Session from 4:00 pm to 4:15 pm at the school district office (this part is closed to the public). Action may be taken in an open public meeting after the Executive Session.

An (open) Special Board Meeting from 4:15 pm to 4:45 pm at the school district office. This is a work session to draft a resolution regarding WSSDA’s Amply Funded Staffing Levels Position.

An (open) Regular School Board Meeting at 5:00 pm at the high school library

Please note that there is not an option to attend these meetings remotely via Zoom because Proclamation 20-28.14 requiring that meetings subject to Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) have a remote option for participation and attendance has been terminated and rescinded effective June 1, 2022. Persons with disabilities and those who may have difficulty physically attending the board meeting are encouraged to contact the school district office at 360-378-4133 at least 24 hours prior to the meeting so that we can arrange for your participation.

At the special (open) meeting and the regular (open) meeting, public comments will be heard. Those interested in making a public comment will be called upon one at a time during the Public Comment section at the beginning of the meeting. The Board will not respond to comments. At the end of the Public Comment section, members of the board may ask the superintendent to review a matter or ask that a matter be put on a future agenda.
