This spring, Alchemy Art Center will be offering its second year of Young Environmentalists, a multifaceted arts and environment program geared toward kids ages 11-15.
In this seven-week program, different guest instructors share concepts and techniques that connect art and design with environmentalism. Areas of focus include Art and Activism, Sense of Place, and Reuse/Upcycling. From March 10 to April 21, the group will meet on Fridays after school at Alchemy, with three additional Saturday field trips planned as well. The culmination of this program will be an art exhibition in the Dome space on April 21.
This program has been made possible by a grant from the Madrona Institute and is offered free of charge to participants.
