With the score tied 6-6, the Pioneers’ Jon Shrine uncorked a double down the left field line that drove in teammate Trevon Myhre, who led off the eighth inning with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt.

Coach Rich Warin said his team sabotaged a sturdy offensive performance by committing four errors in the field.

“We gave it away,” Warin said.

Alex Jangard led Friday Harbor (3-3) at the plate with three base hits. Shawn Cutting had a pair of base hits and Sasha Moghadam and Roy Taylor each had a double.

The Pioneers scored twice in the sixth to erase a Wolverine lead and reclaim the advantage. Friday Harbor tied the score with a run in its next at-bat and then sent the game into extra innings by shutting down Nooksack Valley in the seventh inning.
