Overall picture

Case trends in Western Washington seem to have plateaued and are starting to decline. However, overall case volumes are still quite high. Those who are unvaccinated should continue to be thoughtful about their off-island interactions and recognize that the risk of infection is still quite high if engaging in high-risk behavior. If you are unvaccinated and engage in unmasked indoor social contact with other unvaccinated individuals, it is important to minimize your exposure when returning to the islands.

Stay tuned for information about the vaccination of children 12 and older. Approval for the use of the Pfizer vaccination in those 12+ is expected any day, with opportunities for vaccination here in the islands soon to follow. As always, monitor www.sjccovid.com for the latest info.
