The days are longer, bulbs are pushing up through the dirt and a bright, joyful sun is warming our shoulders.
Spring is here.
And for your local newspaper team, that means three important special sections.
On April 14, the 2021 Home and Garden edition will be inserted inside the Islands’ Sounder, Journal of the San Juans and Islands’ Weekly. Inside, you will hear about energy conservation, garden irrigation, soil health and more. We have a variety of advertising opportunities for local businesses. Get your information out in front of our more than 6,000 subscribers.
Right before Memorial Day weekend, our award-winning visitors guide Springtide will hit the streets. We distribute the glossy magazine on the ferries and at the Anacortes terminal and provide copies to the chambers of commerce, hotels, inns and visitor information centers along the I-5 corridor. It is also online for the entire year.
The magazine has information about all of the ferry-served islands and stories about the various seasonal activities for which the San Juans are known. It also has a wide variety of advertisements from island establishments. We are currently selling the “glossy” ads that are in the front and back of the magazine. We also have room for color or black and white spots in the interior of the guide.
Do you have a fun story idea? We encourage feedback and story suggestions for how we can make these specials more engaging for both visitors and locals alike.
In June, we will publish the beloved graduation special, which celebrates island seniors who are graduating from high school. We sell sponsorships for each student to help pay for the section.
All of our special editions and magazines are available online for the year at https://www.islandssounder.com/print-editions/. If you haven’t already, check out our recent relocation guide The Book of the San Juans, which published in February.
