Kiwanis 4th of July Pig War Picnic

Save the date. Mark your calendars and call your guests, it’s almost time for San Juan Island’s Annual Fourth of July Pig War Picnic.

You’re not going to want to miss this year’s Pig War Picnic. Live music, kids games, a beer garden and much, much more will take place July 4, immediatly following the Fourth of July parade. If you were there last year, you joined hundreds of island families who brought their kids, friends and relatives to our one-of-a-kind community picnic. We are expecting an even bigger and better event this year. The island’s favorite — the Chameleons — will be playing all afternoon. Of course, we’ll have the watermelon eating contest, cakewalk, Island Rec’s kids’ games including pennies in the hay, three-legged races and the best pulled pork barbecue lunch in town for only $10. We’ve got $5 hot dog meals for the kids and a beer garden for the grown ups. Don’t miss this nationally acclaimed event. Its small-town living at its best. Admission is free; lunch is $10.

New location: corner lot at Spring and Price Streets (near the Catholic Church and the baseball field). For more information, visit http://fridayharborkiwanis.com/.
