Friday Harbor High School’s wrestlers will be first out of the gate this winter sports season with a match on the road today at Meridian. The Wolverine grapplers tackle the Trojans beginning at 6 p.m.

The Friday Harbor basketball teams also open the season on the road. On Saturday, the boys and girls basketball teams will test their early-season meddle against the Division 2A Falcons of South Whidbey High. The boys varsity game gets under way at noon, while the boys JV team and the girls squad take to the hard court at 1:30 p.m.

The wrestling team opens Northwest 1A/2B competition at home Dec. 11 against Concrete, 4:30 p.m. in Hall Gym.

The Winter Sports Preview will be included in the Dec. 10 Journal. It features photos, profiles and schedules for Friday Harbor boys basketball, girls basketball and co-ed wrestling teams, and Lopez and Orcas boys and girls basketball teams.
