Island Rec offers ‘Optimal Self Care’ class

Submitted by Island Rec

Island Rec is offering a class designed for self-motivated people who enjoy living life to its fullest. Learn ways to take charge and optimize well-being from the inside out, from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday and Wednesday, on Oct. 1, 3, 8 and 10 at Friday Harbor Holistic Health, 669 Mullis St., Suite 202 in Friday Harbor.

People feel happiest when their bodies are flexible and minds are at ease. Prevention is far better, and cheaper, than a cure. The course will focus on:

Movement: joint health and mobility.

Breath: modern science and spirituality.

Nutrition: goals and tips.

Vision: a roadmap.

Choice: self-empowerment.

This series of seminars explain the intricate relationship between breath, movement, nutrition, circulation and a healthy immune system. The simple step-by-step navigation has been designed to enhance the overall quality of life. It makes self-care comprehensive, easy to follow, and deeply gratifying.

Teacher Katerina Wen develops and teaches self-care courses to educators, hospice caregivers, yoga and movement teachers and health providers. In addition to 20 years of teaching experience, she shares personal wisdom from her own healing journey; the road to recovery from injuries and multiple health challenges.
