The San Juan County Council will hold a special meeting and joint public hearing with the San Juan County Planning Commission to receive testimony on the 2018 San Juan County Annual Docket. The annual docket is a process through which members of the community can request changes to the county’s comprehensive plan and unified development code. For a complete description of the process, see San Juan County Code 18.90.020. Annual docket items are considered for addition to the 2019 San Juan County Department of Community Development work program. Requests for San Juan County Comprehensive Plan map amendments will be considered during the update of that plan.
The hearing will begin at or after 9 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at the San Juan County County Council Chambers, at 55 Second St., in Friday Harbor. Interested parties are encouraged to attend the hearing, and submit written or oral comments regarding the staff recommendation.
The staff report, including copies of the 2018 annual docket requests will be filed at the DCD at 135 Rhone St., and posted on the DCD webpage 10 days prior to the hearing. Review the May 30 staff report at www.sanjuanco.com/1179/Annual-Docket. The staff report may be obtained from DCD during business days between 8-4:30 p.m. and upon request will be mailed without charge.
How to comment
The official comment period is Wednesday, May 30-Friday, June 15 unless the county council extends the comment period. Written comments about particular docket requests should refer to the project number given for the request in the staff report (i.e. 18-0001). Written comments submitted prior to noon on June 14 will be copied for the county council and planning commission members unless they wish to review comments online.

Oral Testimony: The public is invited to provide comment on the 2018 annual docket requests at the joint public hearing.
Copies: Provide 15 copies of written comments if you submit them to DCD after noon on June 14, 2018, or if you distribute written comments at the hearing.
