On Oct. 27, San Juan County Undersheriff Brent Johnson told the Journal the sheriff’s office has received one report from each side of the mayoral race that signs have been removed.
“Fifteen to 20 signs were taken on each side,” said Johnson.
There are no suspects at this time.
Johnson recalled that when he ran for sheriff in 2010 people removed his signs and several were burned on the spot.
“People don’t like signs,” he said. “I don’t know why people do it, but they do it.”
Signs cost around $15 a piece.
