My latest book, “England,” reflects my great and abiding love and esteem for the country of my birth and my desire to demonstrate this love with a book of poems and sketches.
England is a county of historic significance. In London, the capital, the buildings with their mellowed walls emanate intrigue and infamy, from the Tower of London to Westminster Abbey, and to Buckingham Palace, the seat of royalty.
The countryside is peaceful and serene stretching across hills and dales with fields bordered with hedgerows and crossed by stiles and abundant with wild flowers.
An appreciation of English cuisine has always been apparent from Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding and Sherry Trifle, to Bangers and Mash and Treacle Tart.
England’s poets novelists and dramatists have engraved their signatures for posterity.
My previous books of poems and sketches were:
• “America: A journey I traveled from September 1981 to October 1982”
• “Sigha – Tales of my Adorable pet Siamese Seal Point”
• “Honey and Hairbell – Adventures of my two cats in a village in England”
• “Seasons – The four Seasons of San Juan Island”
• “Creatures – Creatures in and around my house”
• “San Juan Island – Beaches Bays and Harbors of this island”
