To see “a community afloat,” attend the San Juan Island Yacht Club’s annual boat parade on Sunday, May 7. The cannon starts at 2:2o p.m. to mark the opening of boating season.

Before the parade, a first responders meet-and-greet will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“It’s an opportunity to meet and thank our first responders,” said event planners.
