Eyeland Fest features free eye exams, music, food and more

Eyeland Fest is an opportunity for the San Juan Lions Club to thank the community for their support over the past 53 years and raise funds to continue to support the San Juan Lions Club health related programs that include providing eyeglasses to those who can’t afford them

The San Juan Lions Club will hold its Eyeland Fest on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 6 p.m to 11 p.m. at the San Juan Island Fairgrounds Building. This event is open to all. Admission is free. This year’s fest has something for everyone:

• Free admission

• Free vision screening exams from 6 – 8 p.m., for all ages

• Photo ops with “The Wicked Witch of the West” aka Lisa Moretti, 7 – 9 p.m.

• Free child care

• Two bands, “The Argyle St. Jazz Band” and “J-Bots”

• Silent and live auction to raise funds for eye care for residents of need on San Juan Island

• Festival food, 6 – 8 p.m. featuring a $20 dinner and dessert, no host bar with beer, wine and margaritas for the adults and $5 Hot dog meal for kids.

Eyeland Fest is an opportunity for the San Juan Lions Club to thank the community for their support over the past 53 years and raise funds to continue to support the San Juan Lions Club health related programs that include providing eyeglasses to those who can’t afford them, free eye screenings and the annual visit of the Health Van that provides free vision and glaucoma screenings and hearing tests, blood drives and hearing support and support for individuals with special vision needs.

The San Juan Lions Club has been serving the San Juan Island community since 1962. It is the mission of the San Juan Lions Club to insure that no child or adult goes without the eyeglasses they need to succeed in school or work.
