Marion Phyllis Lovejoy

In loving memory of our devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

M. Phyllis Lovejoy of Lopez Island died on March 3, 2006 in Anacortes. She was 78.

She was born on Jan. 11, 1928 in Oak Harbor, Wash., the daughter of Elmer and Lucille (Ensminger) Vogt.

Phyllis was an active community member devoted to the history of Lopez Island. She lived with passion and touched many lives. “You will be in our hearts forever.”

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Clark Lovejoy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Holly Lovejoy, Daniel and Julie Lovejoy, John Lovejoy; three grandchildren, Lisa (Brian), Tracy and Heidi; and four siblings, Ardis Ronhaar, Joan Cheney, Robert Vogt and Jacque Eastman.

Funeral was March 7, 2006, 1 p.m. at Center Church on Lopez Island.

Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Anacortes and San Juan Islands.
