San Juan Island International Documentary Film Festival inaugural reception with Emmy winner László Pal on May 23

The San Juan Island International Documentary Film Festival will host its inaugural reception with Emmy award-winning filmmaker László Pal on May 23, 3 p.m. at the San Juan Island Yacht Club. “This festival will draw visitors from all over the world to our islands,” Pal said in a press release.

The San Juan Island International Documentary Film Festival will host its inaugural reception with Emmy award-winning filmmaker László Pal on May 23, 3 p.m. at the San Juan Island Yacht Club.

“This festival will draw visitors from all over the world to our islands,” Pal said in a press release.

Pal’s award-winning “Three Flags over Everest,” about the record-breaking expedition of the 1990 Mount Everest International Peace Climb, will be shown. An overview of the festival and future events, as well as opportunities to volunteer, will be shown May 23.

Created by the San Juan Island Rotary Club, the festival will be held April 1-3, 2011 and will present noteworthy documentary films that entertain, provoke thought, and promote respect for the vast array of different opinions and perspectives.
