Starting Saturday Jan. 9 the “Ski Bus” will leave Friday Harbor on the 8:05 a.m. ferry, headed to Mt. Baker Ski Resort.
The Ski Bus is open to everyone; priority is given to students, grades 6-12, who have signed up for Mt. Baker’s Winter Ride Program. The Winter Ride Program gives discounts on ski lessons and ski equipment rentals.
An informational and sign-up meeting for the Ski Bus and the Winter Ride Program will be held at the San Juan Library on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
The program will go for a duration for eight weeks, each Saturday from Jan. 9 through Feb. 27. The Ski Bus costs $35 each trip and includes ferry fees back to San Juan or Lopez Islands. Half-day lift ticket costs $34 for youth 11-16, $25 for children 7-10 and $50 for adult 16 and up.
