Two Friday Harbor High School golfers, Senior Jesse Kolowitz and Junior Joe Stewart will represent the team at the State Tournament after placing ninth and alternate at the 1B/2B District Golf Championships yesterday.

Kolowitz held onto his game and was able to secure the ninth place spot on the state tournament even through difficult course conditions.

Stewart earned his spot as alternate through a playoff after tying for tenth place with fellow teammates Jess Hargrove and Cole Thomas.

“With 50 spectators following, the three Friday Harbor players teed it up and went head to head to see who was going to be the alternate,” said coach Jack Rice.

Stewart won the playoff shot with a birdie on one of the toughest holes on the course.

“Congratulations go out to the entire team for a great season well played,” said Rice.
