A San Juan Island man died Saturday after his Hummer H3 went off the road on his property at 902 Miller Road and rolled onto its passenger side.

Sheriff Bill Cumming said Monday he plans to “address some of those issues” that led the San Juan County Citizens Salary Commission to cut the sheriff’s annual salary by $10,000.

The Friday Harbor Town Council will have a special meeting Thursday, noon at Town Hall to discuss the County Council’s request that the town finance the construction of a structure around the tipping floor at the solid waste transfer station on Sutton Road.
