To the students and staff at Friday Harbor High and Middle schools:
It has been a honor and privilege to serve you government-approved and school-budget lunches for the past 12 years. I will miss watching you grow into fine young men and ladies. I know a lot of you high schoolers will love not hearing “Wrong door, go around.”
Parents, students and staff, enjoy your new lunch program. Stop by and enjoy the new “All You Can Eat Buffet” for only $3.75. No place on this island can you get as good and cheap food as the school cafeteria. You don’t even have to make reservations. Stop by between 11:15 to 12:45.
I especially want to say goodbye to Becky Shanks and tudents Cody, Kyle, Bellamar, Crystal, Sam and Clayton. I’ll miss your morning hugs. To Carol Ford, I’ll miss your special treats you gave me during the holiday. I love you, Carol, for making me feel special.
To the parents who cleaned out the kitchen this summer: Who threw or took my holiday decoration? They were mine and I want them back. It was not your place to do whatever you wanted to do with them. Whoever cleaned out my locker and took all the Beanie Babies in the white bag, they need to be returned.
To Pat Speers, I’ll miss your beautiful art work you gave us, but especially taking you coffee every afternoon when we closed up the kitchen.
A special “thank you” to Ann Spratt and Fred Yockers for making my granddaughter Andi’s celebration of life so wonderful. Fred, I’m still waiting for those movies you took of it.
Thank you to all the teachers who came in to pickup their morning coffee: Marc Vermeire, Ruth Paull, Pat Speers, Nick, Mr. Wood and Rod Turnbull.
A big hug to Janet Olsen and her students for their music in the cafeteria and letting me play and dance with them. I’ll miss you the most. Love those grandbabies for me.
