Peggy Cantrell of Friday Harbor retrieved this photo after it had been discarded by a man who bought a wallet at the Thrift Shop.

“She retrieved it as a piece of history,” said Minnie Knych, who has the photo.

“As you can see, it is a photo of three World War II soldiers. On the front is the caption ‘Daddy’ under the middle soldier. On the back, the names are McCauley, Lawson, Anderson. I assume ‘Daddy’ is Lawson in the middle. I am pretty sure these are San Juan County residents.
