The girls basketball team, the Wolverines, showed skill and teamwork at Friday’s game on Feb. 2, against the Concrete Lions. It was senior night, celebrating the two seniors on the team – Savannah Hoffman and Kiana Woods.
The Wolverines quickly shot far into the lead in the first minutes of the game. They kept the Lions at bay, who were only able to score 5 points against the Wolverines in the first half of the game. The score going into half time was 26-5.
The Wolverines kept the heat on the Lions in the third quarter. The Lions were only able to score 2 points, while the Wolverines scored 17. The score going into the final quarter was 43-7, with the outcome looking grim for the Lions.
The Wolverines claimed victory on their home court with a final score of 50-15, not far off from their 49-16 win against Concrete on Jan. 5.
On Tuesday, Jan. 30, the mighty Friday Harbor Wolverine girls varsity basketball team overtook the Orcas Vikings with a nail-biting win in overtime with the score 42-40.
