This upstream of our network and a number of our providers experienced a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack at approximately 8 p.m., March 15. The exact impact beyond our network can’t be determined yet, but it appears the attack is coming from a Chinese source.
We have seen two attacks, with the first lasting around seven minutes and the second lasting for a couple minutes. This is not currently affecting LTE or DSL connections.
DDoS is a massive flooding to data onto the network causing a distribution of service; like an earthquake with aftershocks. We are working with our Seattle providers to stabilize the network.
