My name if Irene Herring and most of you know me as the coffee lady. I am writing you all today to express my gratitude for all of the cards, gifts, donations, and hugs that I received from my fellow islanders. I want to specifically thank the Soroptomists, who provided me with ferry tickets so that I could come home in the middle of my treatments, the amazing San Juan Eagles for flying me back and forth to Bellingham, and all of my fellow islanders who supported me with prayer, hugs and kindness. My family and I are so blessed to be part of this community. I would be remiss if I did not recognize Peace Health. How fortunate we are to have the ability to have Cancer treatment here. So, I will wrap this up by saying there is no better place to recuperate than being surrounded by family, friends and a very loving community. Thank you all.
